The West Florida Wheelmen Club exists because of you… the members. Going forward into 2026, we want the club to grow and to increase involvement in all aspects of local cycling.

The West Florida Wheelmen Club will continue to provide social and fitness road rides throughout the week. We will continue to provide the weekday rides with a few tweaks added to ensure consistent ride captains. We will also bring back the after-ride eating and socializing which were well known signatures of member hosted rides in the past. Please stay tuned to our calendar. And if you are interested in hosting a ride/social, please contact our Ride Director or Advocate.

Safety has grown to be a major concern for our club. Cycling advocacy and public education will continue to be a major goal for our club in 2026.

WFW will also continue our large signature events. These cycling events include the The Annual Ride of Silence; Tour de Brew; Top of Florida Ride; Memorial Day Event; participation in Bike Ride Across Georgia; Fourth of July Ride; Labor Day Ride; Sunset/Full Moon Ride to Ft. Pickens; and the Dr. Fenner McConnell – Matt Wantz Memorial Bicycle Ride in October;. We will continue to add events and rides throughout the year, so check our calendar and newsletter often for updated and current information.

These guidelines help us maintain what we're known for – being the friendliest cycling group around where everyone feels welcome to ride safely, connect, and share their love of cycling.

The WFW is all about enjoying safe rides together, having a blast, and building friendships with fellow cycling enthusiasts who love exploring our gorgeous Gulf Coast area. We're proud to be a welcoming, inclusive community where everyone belongs, regardless of background or experience level.

• We treat each other with genuine care, respect, and kindness
• We create a warm, trusting atmosphere where everyone feels valued
• We celebrate our diversity and welcome riders of all backgrounds, identities, and orientations

Safety & Fun Go Hand in Hand

• We avoid negative/aggressive interactions with motorists 
• We follow traffic laws and practice safe riding habits on Pensacola's beautiful roads and trails
• We look out for each other and communicate openly about any concerns
• We stay alert and ride responsibly, avoiding alcohol or substances that could impair our judgment

Embracing All Cyclists

• We cheer on riders of all types – from e-bikes to road bikes, beginners to seasoned pros
• We encourage newcomers and support riders with different abilities or equipment
• We remember that every expert was once a beginner

Positive Communication

• We use encouraging words and maintain a friendly, supportive tone
• We avoid language or behavior that might make others uncomfortable

Representing Our Community

When you wear WFW gear or ride with us, you're an ambassador for our amazing cycling community! Your positive attitude and safe riding help show Pensacola what great cyclists look like. 

Young Riders Welcome

We love having young cyclists join us! Riders under 16 need a parent or guardian along for the adventure, and anyone under 18 needs parental permission to become a member. 

Keeping Our Community Strong

Being part of WFW is a privilege we all share. If someone's actions don't align with our friendly, inclusive values, we may need to have a conversation about their continued participation.
