Advocacy

logo

On one night in cities around the world, cyclists gather to ride in silence to raise awareness of cyclists' right to ride on the road and to honor the fallen cyclists no longer with us. The Ride of Silence serves as a rally that advocates for the living friends and family of victims, as well as a celebration of those who incorporate the bicycle into their lifestyle. We ride slowly and silently in hope to end the tragedy on our roads.

Mission: The ride, which is held during Bike Safety month, aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The ride is also a chance to show respect for those who have been killed or injured.

This ride is open to the public and there is no charge.

WHEN: Wednesday, May 15, 2023 at 5:30 PM
LOCATION: Pensacola State College 12th and College in front of WSRE building.
ROUTE: 7 mile airport loop.
PACE: 12 MPH
NOTES: TBD

Riders will be escorted by the Pensacola Police Department, but the streets will remain open to regular traffic. We are honored to have Mr. Quint Studer speak to our group prior to the ride.
