Spoke & Word | November 2026

From the desk of the president

Thank you all for a great season of cycling! We’ve had so many rides and events throughout the year that I cannot even number. This month, we will have several holiday related rides!

Presently, we are looking forward to our end of year celebration. The Cyclebration details can be found in this newsletter. Please take a moment and send an RSVP to Chris at membership@westfloridawheelmen.org if you plan to attend. We need an accurate count, of course, to make certain we have enough food and other refreshments for all of those attending. Please make every effort to be there, as there will be prizes and awards given out.

As of November 1, you are able to sign up early for registration for 2027. If you are receiving this and you did not sign up for 2026, feel free to sign up now and please be our guest at the Cyclebration event. Current members are covered for the rest of 2026; however, if you sign up now, you will be covered for the remainder of 2026 as well as 2027.

As you know, our rides on Monday evening and Wednesday evening have ended for the season. This is because of the time change and the shorter days. We will have other rides posted on the calendar which are in the morning and afternoon. Please routinely check the calendar for new rides that are being posted.

As a reminder to all of us, don’t forget to put on an extra light to increase your visibility in the evening hours. There are some areas in the city and county which still have hurricane debris. Please be mindful of that and if you know of any road closures, feel free to contact me so we all can be aware.

One of the items which we will discuss at our celebration is appointing another board. If you are interested in any of the board positions, feel free to reach out to me by email or text. Presently, we need some help with our membership. Chris and Darla will be traveling next year as they are missionary coaches. Any help with Chris’s responsibilities would be greatly appreciated. It is his desire to train another person to fulfill the membership director’s responsibilities. You can text him directly at 850-375-7239 or email him at membership@westfloridawheelmen.org.

Thank you all for a great season!

Jeff
